Lake Vermilion Cultural Center of Tower plans Midsummer 2016 benefit festival

FRIDAY, APRIL 8, 2016 — Midsummer 2016, a celebration sponsored by the Lake Vermilion Cultural Center of Tower, will be held at the Tower Civic Center on Sat., June 25, and Sun., June 26.

This year’s Midsummer celebration theme features France, the Voyageurs, and the Native Americans. It will also feature: the Midsummer 2016 marketplace, offering International items for sale from countries all around the world.

Midsummer is the major yearly fundraiser for the Lake Vermilion Cultural Center in Tower. The center is scheduled to open next year, spring of 2017. The cornerstone of the Cultural Center is the 128 year old former St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, which was moved to the center of Tower last fall and placed on a new foundation. The church will undergo extensive construction beginning this summer, repurposing the historic building into a multi-purpose cultural facility featuring a performance area, gallery and library.

Applications for vendors’ booths for Midsummer 2016 may be obtained by emailing Luann*AT*vermilionculturalcenter.org. Invitations for the event may be obtained by emailing mary*AT*vermilionculturalcenter.org. Vendor applications are also available from the LVCC Office.
