Support the Tower-Soudan 4th of July — Buy Raffle Tickets!

WEDNESDAY, MAY 17, 2017 — A great way to support the 2017 Tower-Soudan 4th of July activities is to buy a raffle ticket today. Tickets are only One Dollar and purchasers might walk away with one of several great prizes. The first prize brings the lucky ticket holder a full-day Pontoon Boat Rental, courtesy of Birch Point Marine. The second prize winner will be awarded a four-person Golf Package courtesy of The Wilderness at Fortune Bay. The third prise winner will receive Dinner for Two at the Wilderness at Fortune Bay. There are also three cash prizes, 4th prize–$150; 5th prize–$100 and 6th prize–$50.

Tickets are already on sale from Tower-Soudan 4th of July committee members and are available at Vermilion Fuel and Food, D’Erick’s Tower Liquors and Benchwarmers Sports Grille.

In addition, tickets will be sold throughout the day, Friday, May 26, at Zup’s Groceries on Tower’s Main Street. As people stock up on groceries for their Memorial Day picnics and festivities they are encouraged to buy a raffle ticket from 4th of July committee members who will be offering raffle tickets for sale.

Minnesota’s Iron Range is known across the country for its exuberant 4th of July celebrations and Tower-Soudan is ground central having hosted the first 4th of July celebration on the oldest of Minnesota’s ranges—the Vermilion Iron Range. Tower-Soudan has celebrated the 4th since the last score of the 19th century making it the oldest, continuous celebration of American independence on any of Minnesota’s iron ranges. It is the People’s Celebration and it is entirely supported by the people through their generous donations.
